sexualizing kids - something I saw the results of at school

Following are two links to articles in the Salt Lake Deseret News. The first is from Sunday, Sept. 18; the second is from Monday Sept 19.
http://desne.ws/nwDngL, http://desne.ws/nW91QI.

Both were front page articles, and took up most of a complete page, less pictures, on the inside pages. These articles speak to a subject that I find very timely, and concerning. Many of the kids I saw while going after my second degree were products of the society described in these articles. And too many of the adults as well

One of the ideas that stood out to me as I understood it, is that the media and the merchandisers, as monoliths, are pushing the sexualizing of kids.
I think that is a bit of a cop-out. Corporations are monoliths, but are still made up of people. It is the morality of the individuals in those monoliths that are pushing these monoliths, the media - the fashion industry - the toy industry et.al., to do what they do. Part of the overall solution is to get individuals into these monoliths who will change them from within. But this demands the question of "How?"

First rule of bureaucracy is grow the bureaucracy.
A corollary is that in time the people employed by the bureaucracy are more interested in maintaining the bureaucracy than in accomplishing the goals of the original organizers.

By these two principles, it is very hard to move a monolithic bureaucracy, or change its course.

"There ought to be a law" is the usual next reaction of many. But I say there already is: God said so. Any more law than this is people trying to exercise their dominion over each other (The Sword), rather than trying to teach correct principles and allow people to govern themselves (The Pen.)

Does there come a time for pitchforks and torches? Isn't it Government's Job to do that mob's job before the mob forms?
I suppose, but politicians and power mongers are not the ones to form the law. They instinctively revert to the two bureaucratic principles stated above.

I support the better ideas of going after the problem from within, and trying the virtue of the word of God. By action and where necessary by word, from those who live the discipline of Christ.
